ACCESS STATEMENT

Introduction

We aim to cater for and welcome all visitors to The Garden Room bed and breakfast. The following statement is a summary of our provision. If you have any specific questions please feel free to call us and we will always try to help.

Pre arrival

  • We have a regularly updated website www.thegardenroom-bg.co.uk

  • Bookings and enquiries can be made by email, phone or by post.

  • Nearest town is Melksham which is 2 miles drive by car.

  • Asda, Sainsburys and Waitrose are all in Melksham.

  • Nearest station is Bradford on Avon, 5 miles away.

  • Local taxi company in the village.

  • Local bus serviced in the village, the bus stop is 300 metres away

 

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

  • Sawmill Cottage is in the centre of the village.

  • On arrival, there is a stone entrance with a gravel drive way and parking area.  There is plenty of room to open the car doors on all sides.

  • Access to The Garden Room is through a large gate 110cm wide to the right of the garage. It is a level surface with a combination of paved patio and gravel path.

  • There are 2 steps up into the room the first is 15cm and the second is 23cm including the lip into the room. The door is 75cm wide

  • We can help all guests with luggage if needed.

The Garden Room

·        The floor is wooden laminate with a central rug.

  • King sized double bed with height of 40 cm, there is plenty of room to access the double bed on both sides.

  • The single beds are a height of 60 cm, access to the bed is on one side

  • Duvets are feather and 2 pillows per person one feather and one hollow fill. (non feather are available on request)

  • Bedding is 100% cotton.

  • 4 chairs with padded seats no arms. The dining table is 75 cm high, it can be extended, and both table and chairs are all easily moved.

  • Dressing table 78cm high with a chair.

  • Free standing wardrobe, 3 bedside cabinets, toy and game chest and TV cabinet.

  • Bedside lamps are touch operated lamps with 3 settings.

  • 2 seater sofa bed with the seat height of 44 cm

  • Kitchen area has floor and wall units, worktop at a height of 91cm, a sink with mixer tap, compact cooker with 2 ring electric hobs that sits on the work top.  Fridge under worktop.

  • Fire alarm fitted in centre of the room, fire extinguisher and fire blanket provided in the kitchen area.

  • Broadband is available in the room via a cable which is provided.

 Shower-room

  • Ensuite has a 11cm high step up and the door width is 75cms.

  • The shower cubicle has an edge of 13cms high with a folding shower door width of 53cms. The shower tray is 95cm x 75cm.

  • Vinyl flooring.

  • The washbasin has a height of 90cms with cupboards underneath.

  • Toilet is 45cms high.

Outdoor Facilities

  • Patio area accessed by gravel path along the side of The Garden Room which is exclusively for guests. Guests are welcome to use the rest of the garden as well.

  • Garden table and 4 chairs.

  • Bark area with a climbing frame.

  • We are happy to store bikes on request.

Additional Information

  • No smoking in the Garden Room.

  • We maintain the room to a high standard
